CALCULATION

*CALCULATION,<force scale factor>,<number of iterations>,<

Defines parameters to be used by the calculation programs. The parameter values for iConc are as follows.

  • force scale factor :factor multiplying all forces sent to the calculation program. Allows increasing or decreasing the applied load directly from iMesh. Default value is 1.0, no change to the applied loads.
  • number of iterations : number of iterations for the calculation by the applet iConc. Typical number of iterations are between 20 (default value) and 100 or more. The time required for the calculations is roughly proportional to this number, so try to avoid setting it to too high a value until you are really sure that this is the calculation you want to perform. Check the messages in the iConc Listing menu to see if the calculation converges. If convergence is reached (Error < 0.010), no additional iterations are required. If, on the contrary, no convergence is reached after a significant number of iterations, it may mean that the applied load is too large.
For linear elastic calculations, the number of iterations is automatically set to 2.
